- Seven Group:
- Campaign Overview

We have completed a number of shareholder transaction and corporate action tasks for leading media group Seven Network.
However, two tasks are most appropriate to outline at this point being the “Refresh the West” EGM campaign aimed at reinvigorating West Australian Newspapers (WAN) board representation and the recent merger proposal by Seven Network with Westrac mining equipment contractor.
For the “Refresh the West” campaign in 2008 we established a dedicated microsite to communicate Seven’s key points to WAN’s shareholders nationally, the newspaper reading public in Western Australia and the media nationally. We housed all key information centrally on the campaign microsite and vital information was most simply displayed using short form video material which we produced. This took the form of video cuts from Seven’s executive chairman Mr Kerry Stokes outlining key matter and vox pops with newsagents in Western Australia to highlight the “on the ground” issues with WANs newspaper distribution in that State.
To supplement the campaign microsite we implemented a paid search engine marketing campaign to draw interested parties such as WAN shareholders directly to the information microsite.
Further, we created an online advertising campaign that was two-fold in nature with one stream targeting shareholders in Western Australia and a second stream reaching shareholders nationally through mainstream media online.
With the recent successful merger bid involving merging Seven Network with Westrac to form the Seven Group conglomerate we again established a dedicated website to target shareholders, media and other interested parties.
This centralised website housed all key information relating to the merger proposal and again was bolstered by video online to best outline key issues related to the proposed new entity.
In conclusion, for both tasks our executive team provided both advisory and execution expertise which saw us working with key deal stakeholders including internal and external communications advisers, the lead banks, offer document designers, proxy solicitation group and the share registry.
